Greetings to all Pack 977 Enthusiasts,
<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
Well, it looks like we have an exciting year ahead of us. Pack 977 will be recruiting at several schools this year, and we are centrally located to make it convenient for a lot of Cub Scouts and their parents to be involved in our Pack. As our new website says, we believe that Pack 977 is “Central to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Bryan’s Future”. We are looking forward to this opportunity to mentor a lot of boys in our community.
Speaking of our new website, our Pack Trainer and Wolf Dean Leader, Kristofer Cowles, has done an outstanding job of putting together our new website. It’s absolutely awesome! I also want to thank all of the parents, Adult Leaders, and Pack Committee Members that help put this together. It is a great way to recruit new Cub Scouts and to keep everyone in our Pack informed of Pack activities. Be sure to visit the site often for the latest updates.
While I’m thanking folks, I want to thank the Adult Leaders, Pack Committee Members, parents, Cub Scouts, and other people who helped us get through our first year as a Pack. Pack 977 would not exist today without the financial, physical, and spiritual support of these people. We are now poised to reach out to our community in 2007 and beyond. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with the new people who will join us this year to participate in this life-changing endeavor.
Did someone say “new people”? Yes, I did! As we grow, we will be looking for new volunteers. Scouting is the world’s largest volunteer organizations and for good reason. We help boys to become men. Lord willing, we will have several positions this year where we will need help. It could be as simple as bringing refreshments or as demanding as being a Den Leader. Regardless of the involvement, there are few things that you can do that will be more rewarding. Just ask me how you can help.
This fall will be an exciting time for Pack 977. We’re already planning to make and race boats (Raingutter Regatta), sell popcorn, go camping (Cub and Family, Webelos Woods, etc), go on field trips, and a whole host of other activities. Heck, we might even get to shoot bows and arrows and BB guns. Don’t miss out on the fun! Pack 977 is not only interested in training Cub Scouts and Adult Leaders; we are also interested in having FUN!
Pray that we have a successful recruiting night on September 12th. I look forward to seeing all of the new faces at our first Pack meeting for the year on September 25, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Bryan. Just show up, and we’ll provide the fun!
